Fishing has vastly improved since February.

Graves Mountain Lodge and get them hooked on fishing.

All the rivers are up and running hard. The state has recently stocked the Rose, Robinson and Hughes River and will do so again on Heritage day - April 4th. So, bring your kids out to Graves Mountain Lodge and get them hooked on fishing.

Fishing at Rose River Farm has been excellent over the last few weeks. Rainbows are hitting top water flies and nymphs. Within the last week we have had some great days on the native brook trout streams. Had some great action on small dry fly midges and emerges.

Fished in a dry dropper combination. Best combo was a March Brown size 10 followed by Rainbow warriors size 18 followed by Zebra midge size 20. We also saw a number of mayflies and caddisflies this week.

Recommended flies for this week:

March Brown Dry size 14 Elk Hair Caddis, Tan size 14

March Brown Soft Hackle Nymph, Olive size 14 Perdigon Nymph, purple size 18

Zebra midge size 20 San Juan Worms size 14 for murky water Use a 4 WT or 5 WT rod on stocked water and a 3 WT or 4 WT on native brook trout.

I like longer lighter leaders for the current conditions 9’ 5X is my current go to.
