MEET OUR GUIDES
Meet the passionate guides behind Edmunds Outfitters who bring years of experience, patience, and a love for the outdoors to every trip. Our team is dedicated to helping anglers of all skill levels build confidence, learn new techniques, and create lasting memories on the water.

Alan Edmunds
With over two decades of guiding experience, Alan Edmunds is the heart and soul behind Edmunds Outfitters. His deep knowledge of Virginia’s Blue Ridge waters and his lifelong passion for fly fishing make every trip both educational and unforgettable.
Alan’s approach is rooted in patience, respect for nature, and a genuine desire to help anglers of all skill levels connect with the water. Whether teaching a first-time caster or guiding a seasoned angler to trophy trout, Alan ensures every client leaves with new skills, confidence, and great memories.
When he’s not on the river, Alan can be found tying custom flies, exploring new stretches of the Rose, Rapidan, and Hughes Rivers, or sharing stories around the campfire. His philosophy is simple — fly fishing isn’t just a sport, it’s a way to slow down, breathe deeply, and reconnect with what matters most.

Bryant Robinson
Bryant brings a calm, patient teaching style and a deep love for mountain water. He’s known for turning first-time anglers into confident casters—focusing on clear fundamentals, reading water, and simple, repeatable techniques that catch fish.
Whether you’re learning a roll cast on a small creek or targeting bigger trout on private water, Bryant makes every lesson feel relaxed, safe, and fun.

Jen Goodale
Jen is an enthusiastic educator who blends technical know-how with an encouraging, upbeat approach. She specializes in helping families and groups learn together—covering gear basics, knot tying, drift control, and fly selection—so everyone feels included and successful.
With Jen, you’ll leave the water with new skills, great photos, and a bigger smile than you arrived with.
